I joined the Bloomington-Normal Bass Club in 2007 after having fished against the finest anglers this region holds. I knew going in that I could learn from all of them and their collective decades of experience, but it never fails to amaze me what some of these people come up with.
As Systems Director, I've worked on the website to establish our Internet presence and get some interest from the youth of the area, now that the IHSA has put in place the bass fishing activity. In just a few short months, we've come a long way on both fronts and there's so much more to accomplish.
As we go into 2010, The Club has seen some major resturcturing with the parting of Larry Russell as President and Jerry Martoglio as Tournament Director. I'm excited to see where we can take The Club under the new leadership of Terry Brown as President and with a new tournament committee comprised of Dennis Bierbaum and Mike "Smoke Stack" Campbell. Tournament sponsors, increased fish stocking efforts and venue changes are but a few things we've accomplished in just a few short weeks.
I'll be keeping The Club apprised of the new endeavors and goings-on through the website and membership-wide emailings. |
