We at the Bloomington-Normal Bass Club want to know your thoughts on a pro seminar. While this is designed to get your top three picks, jot down any comments or thoughts you have on the subject by clicking the "Feedback Form" link below. The more feedback we get on this, the better we can make it for you. The poll will be open until August, so get your choices in and be heard.

The Bloomington-Normal Bass Club Charity Buddy Tournament - July 11, Dawson Lake

The BNBC Charity Tournament has been scheduled for July 11 at Dawson Lake, with take-off at 6AM and running until 2PM. This event will benefit the Shriner's Children's Hospitals, so come show your support for the kids and have a great time fishing with your buddy! The entry fee is $75 and there will be a 50% payout to 20% of the field. There are also other prizes to win. The full details are located on the 2009 Charity Tournament Page. Grab a copy of the flyer here, or an entry form only here.

Each member is encouraged to bring a non-member or someone they don't normally fish with to this event. This charity event is open to the public, so tell your friends and family to join us in helping this great cause.

Our friends at Wired2Fish have donated some prizes for the event, and we would like to whole-heartedly thank them for all their support. If you haven't been to Wired2Fish.com lately, you should visit their site and check out the great video coverage of the pros at Evergreen and sign up to win in their contests. Other prizes include Cabela's and Evinrude gift certificates and Setyr rods to name just a couple.

BNBC Member Directory Available

As discussed at previous meetings, a member directory is now available. Currently, there are some members' info that we don't have but they are listed. The directory includes phone numbers, city and email for each member. If there are any errors or omissions, please let me know and I'll correct them. You can find a link to the directory to the left cleverly titled "Members Directory". This is also an opportunity to get a BNBC email address to post on the directory. The BNBC email is accessible anywhere you can get on the Internet, so it's a great free address.

  • BNBC August Meeting - Watermelon Open

At the August BNBC meeting (8/5), cleverly known as the Watermelon Open, a short fishing derby will be held for members to enjoy. Bring your panfish gear and a bass rod or two and beat Jerry this year. As the name indicates, watermelon will also be served at the meeting.

    Tuesday Night Tournament Points Race

Last week we saw Fandel and Knott take the lead. This week, we have three teams tied at 697 points each. The three teams are:
    Fandel and Knott
Bree and Maisenbacher (Gave you first billing again, Scott!)
    Russell and Ferguson
These teams are showing true consistency by placing in the top ten at each event, making every point count.

I've posted a separate sheet for the Team of the Year standings. It can be found in the Tuesday Tournament menu along with the regular results postings under Tuesday TOY - 09. These results are for reference only; I did not take into account substitution pairings and related points.

BNBC Stocks Lake Bloomington With Smallmouth

Here's a welcome update on the BNBC fish stocking program. On June 17, Lake Bloomington received a smallmouth infusion to the tune of 8000 fingerlings. Fingerlings are typically 2 to 4 inches long. This is well above the 2000 I reported earlier this year, and a huge step in the right direction for both the lake and the club.

Second update: We have confirmation on an October delivery of more smallmouth for Lake Bloomington. These fish will be between 6 and 8 inches long. I don't have hard dates or quantities at this time, but volunteers will be needed to help distribute the fish around the lake.

    BNBC Member Seeks Tourney Partner

Craig Colledge is a new member and is looking to whet his appetite for bass fishing on a Tuesday night. He currently doesn't have a boat, so he is asking for a boater partner to step up and give him a shot. You members that have a partner whom is unable to attend a tourney should contact Craig at 309-838-4868 (cell).

BNBC Email Addresses Available for Members; Contact Email Change

As part of our club's web hosting package, we are able to provide each member their own email address ending with bloomingtonnormalbassclub.com or bnbassclub.com. If you are interested in getting one, send me an email with your preferences and I'll set you up. This would be a great thing to get for the membership directory to post.

Please note: I've changed the main BNBC contact email as a result of our web host switch. Please update your contact list for the BNBC to bnbassclub@gmail.com. The previous email address, bnbassclub@yahoo.com, will be phased out over the next month or two.
